May 30, 2009 – Beginner PLUS workshop  

Topics of discussion and demonstration will be: equipment - general overview of the basics; frames of American Foul Brood – see and smell; handling bee’s; varroa sampling – where to get bee’s and do a varroa wash; nosema sampling and examination; install 2 packages of bee’s; making splits; overlapping track on queen rearing -  for more advanced beekeepers

We are a not for profit association located in Western New York which includes regions as far East as Rochester, North to Lake Ontario, West to Lake Erie, and South to the Pennsylvania border.  Our association includes hobbyists as well as commercial bee keepers.  If you are interested in becoming a bee keeper please attend an upcoming meeting.
